The importance of data and analysis in agriculture

In agriculture, as in any kind of sector, it is crucial to have access to data to be able to understand if actions are getting results. In fact, in the last few years the use of data analyses, instruments and sensors in a variety of sectors has increased significantly. In agriculture there is a high number of unpredictable variables, such as the weather, so the ability to ‘read’ the general field conditions (such as nutrients) becomes absolutely critical in order to make the right decisions, maximise the results, and minimize the losses.

Therefore SMART FERTILIZER, which is a tool that helps in the creation of fertilization plans based on lab analysis, has teamed up with the Spanish company NT Sensors.
This company has created advanced sensors that are able to analyse important nutrients from soil extracts or water samples in only 1 minute.

Their sensor IMACIMUS can not only read the major part of macro elements, such as Nitrogen and Potassium, but also separately read the different Nitrogen ions (NH4 and NO3), in addition to Calcium, Magnesium, Chloride. This allows for a much easier analysis of the nutritional status of the field and irrigation water.

At SMART FERTILIZER we are always looking for new ways to help agriculture with technology: by providing the best tools to improve the accuracy of the services we provide, and by helping growers and agronomists to make the right decisions.

  • Recommends the ideal fertilizer mixture/ blends
  • Saves up to 50% on fertilizer costs
  • Comprehensive data on hundreds of crop varieties
  • Interprets test results for any extraction method
